Learn how to put your experience to work for Eugene & Lane County!

Serving on a City/County board, committee, or commission is one of the most direct ways to influence decisions that shape our local business climate, and many professionals don’t realize how accessible the opportunity truly is.

The Eugene Chamber invites business leaders, professionals, and community members to attend a Boards & Commissions Info Session to learn more about serving on an appointed body with the City of Eugene and Lane County.

These informal sessions are designed to help you understand:

    • What boards, committees, and commissions do—and why they matter

    • How the application and appointment process works

    • What makes a strong, competitive application

    • How business and professional perspectives can add real value

You’ll also hear directly from past board and commission members who will share their experiences, lessons learned, and answer questions about the time commitment and impact of service.

Whether you’re actively considering applying this year or simply want to learn more, these sessions are a great first step. No prior civic experience required—just an interest in helping shape Eugene’s future.

Applications to serve on City boards and commissions are due January 31. (County Vacancies' deadlines vary)
RSVP today to attend one of the sessions and get the tools you need to decide if service is right for you.

Free to attend. Space is limited.
