Fraud Warnings Have you been contacted in the last week about updating your Chamber directory listing? It wasn't us... If your business gets a call from the Chamber or any other organization that seems fishy, trust your instincts. It may be a phishing con. Scammers can use company information to commit ID theft or target the business with other scams, such as phony invoices. We recommend you: Don't necessarily believe what you see or hear. Scammers are great at mimicking phone numbers and other details. Train staff. Make sure that the people processing invoices or answering phone calls are aware of these scams. Hang up. Don't confirm information from unknown callers. This just gives the scammers something to use against you. Call the organization to confirm calls are legitimate. (Our number is 541.484.1314.) If you feel you might have been a victim of this or a similar scam, keep an eye out for other unusual activity.
